$10,000 Sign-On bonus with a 2-year commitmentJOB SUMMARYUtilizing the nursing process, the Endoscopy nurse is accountable for delivery of patient care in the Endoscopy area during the shift.
She/he is responsible for:
meeting the established Standards of Nursing Care, managing assigned personnel, and promoting collaboration among the disciplines, and demonstrates a loyalty to the philosophy, policies, and practices of the institution.
Requirements:

Follows policies regarding consent for treatment and release of medical information regarding a minor or a person who is unable to make medical decisions for themselves.
Demonstrates appropriate awareness for suspected abuse/neglect to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and takes measures to report them according to protocol.
Identifies and plans for appropriate safety precautions to be taken to prevent injury to the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Provides education to patient/family based on assessment of identified need.
Communicates effectively with all applicable age groups.
Organizes and achieves quality performance.
Attends and contributes to department staff meetings.
Currently certified in CPR.
Attends a sufficient number of inservices, according to required policies.
Attends a CE or Inservice program on emergency cardiac care at least once every 3 years.
Demonstrates flexibility as patient care needs change.
Establishes priorities in delivery of patient care.
Collaborates with other health team members to coordinate Endoscopy and Nursing management of patient care.
Works on cooperation with co-workers and supervisory staff.
Established effective interpersonal relationships with patients/families and co-workers.
Confers with and directs ancillary personnel to provide responsible patient care.
Assist in orientation of RNs and other personnel.
Manages time effectively for proper balance between patient care assignments, in-services, unit meetings, and professional conferences.
Counsels and initiates corrective action for nursing employees as necessary and promptly informs the appropriate supervisor or per established chain of command.
Assesses all emergency situations that may occur during the shift.
Completes assigned shift duties.
Accurately administers medications and performs treatments in accordance with Endoscopy policy and procedure.
Knowledgeable in special tests and procedures to assist physician in caring for patients before, during and after tests/procedures.
Demonstrates ability to start IV's and blood products and monitor fluids for correct rate.
Demonstrates an ability to assess reports and communicate findings to physician.
Knowledge in the care and maintenance of all endoscopies and endoscopy accessories.
Communicates pertinent information regarding patients to other care givers.
Keeps supervisor and physicians informed regarding patient care issues or significant changes in patient condition.
Completes records and requisitions with complete information in appropriate time frame.
Uses established channels of communication to resolve work related problems.
Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and hospital information.
Accounts for narcotics, insuring the security of narcotics at all times.
Operates or supervises safe operative of specialized patient care equipment, according to companyrecommendations and hospital policy and procedure.
Maintains infection control measures and universal precautions in Endoscopy.
Cleans and disinfects Endoscopy equipment according to hospital policy and procedure.
Completes initial assessment.
Completes ongoing assessment of the patient and appropriate interventions in collaboration with the physician in order to meet the specific needs.
Completes patient/family education before the procedure and at dischargeThe applicable assessment and planning processes for an infant, child, adolescent or adult is individualized based on age-specific needs identified.
